Third-year striker Mario Kovacevic scored six goals in two games in leading the Varsity Blues to their 27th consecutive post-season berth as the OUA men’s soccer regular season wrapped up this past weekend.

The Woodbridge, Ont., native tallied four goals, including the game-winner, as the Blues shut out the Nipissing Lakers 6-0 on Saturday at Varsity Centre. Toronto will now face Nipissing in the first round of the playoffs.

Kovacevic notched the eventual game-winner in the eighth minute of the match, and added three more in the 55th, 74th, and 85th minutes to seal the dominant win.

The 2011 OUA first team all-star also added two back-to-back markers in the 40th and 41st minutes as the Blues upended Trent 5-0 on Wednesday.  Kovacevic finishes the regular season ranked fourth in the province with nine goals in only 11 games played.
