First-year swimmer Jeremie Holdom combined for six gold medals as the Varsity Blues men's swimming team handily defeated both the Guelph Gryphons and McMaster Marauders in dual-meet action this weekend. Holdom took on Guelph's top swimmer Matthew Stephenson and came out on top in all three races, winning the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, as well as the 200 individual medley.Holdom broke the meet record and met the CIS standard in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.51, while also breaking the meet record in the 200IM in a time of 2:07.88. The first-year mathematics major then showed his versatility versus the Marauders on Sunday afternoon.Holdom finished first in the 800 freestyle (8:27.06), an event he had never swam before, a full 24 seconds ahead of team mate David Dorian. The Toronto native also handily won both the 100 breaststroke (1:06.92) and 200 individual medley (2:07.88) events.
