Havaris took the reigns as head coach for the 2008 season, and led the squad to its best regular-season finish in the history of the University of Toronto women's soccer program: first overall in the OUA with a regular season record of 10-2-2. The Blues led the OUA, and were tied with the Montreal Carabins in the CIS, allowing only five goals against in 14 games.
Havaris also guided the team to a gold-medal performance at the 2009 Sportsfest at Bogacizi University in Istanbul in May 2009 and a silver medal at the prestigious Old Four tournament in August 2008. Two members of the squad (Laura Arduini and Erica Basso ) were selected to represent Canada at the FISU World University Games championship in Belgrade, Serbia in July, and the 2008 team was also recognized with five OUA All-Stars, two All-Canadians and Erica Basso won the OUA-East MVP award.
Prior to U of T, Eva served two years as the head coach at Fanshawe College where she turned the program around and guided her team to an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) championship, a fourth-place finish at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) championship and was named OCAA coach of the year. As an assistant coach, she helped guide the University of Western Ontario (UWO) Mustangs to an OUA championship in 2004.
An all-Canadian standout at the UWO, Eva was the CIS women’s soccer player of the year in 2003. She is a two-time OUA conference MVP, a two-time CIS first-team all-Canadian and the 2003 UWO female academic all-Canadian athlete of the year.
Eva currently holds a national B coaching license from the Canadian Soccer Association and a Masters degree in Sport Management.
