Biography

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Lecia Patrick to the women's track and field program for the 2025-26 season.

"After visiting U of T, I knew it was the right fit for me," said Patrick. "The welcoming team, the challenging academics, the facilities, the big city, and many other favourable factors. I found positive factors in every school I visited, but U of T was the only one that had it all."

A sprinter and long jumper from Ottawa, Patrick joins the Blues via Ashbury College and CANI Athletics.

During her high school career she has qualified for the OFSAA Track and Field Championships in each of the last three years, earning provincial long jump silver in 2022, along with fourth-place finishes in long jump and triple jump in 2023, and fourth in the 200m in 2024. Her efforts twice earned her the Most Valuable Athlete award among her peers at Ashbury.

With her club, competing at the provincial and national level, she has garnered multiple medals. Patrick earned long jump bronze at the 2024 Ontario Indoor U18 Athletics Championships and at the 2024 Ontario U20 Athletics Championships. That same year she also claimed long jump silver and triple jump bronze at the 2024 Canadian Indoor U18 Championships. And most recently she earned long jump silver at the 2025 Ontario Open Athletics Championships.

A talented multi-lingual student, Patrick has received honour roll status during her high school career.
