Biography
The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Genevieve Mayville to the women's track and field team for the 2025-26 season.
A 5-foot-7 jumper from Toronto, Mayville joins the Blues via Northview Heights Secondary School and York University Track and Field Club.
Competing in multiple jump events, Mayville has qualified for OFSAA in both long jump and triple jump through the past two seasons earning Top 10 finishes. Her efforts earned her female track and field athlete of the year at Northview Heights for 2023. She additionally has served as captain in 2025. A strong all-around athlete while at Northview Heights, Mayville has also competed with the volleyball, badminton, and basketball teams.
Meanwhile, with YUTFC she has shined in her age category earning all-Ontario status in 2022, 2024, and 2025. This culminated with ranking No. 1 in Canada for long jump in the U18 age group in 2024. At the 2024 Ontario Legion Championships she also grabbed long jump gold with an impressive personal best leap of 5.98. Mayville then went on to represent Ontario at the 2024 Legion National Track and Field Championships in multiple years, earning gold in long jump and silver in triple jump.
She most recently claimed long jump silver at the 2025 Canadian U20 Indoor Championships with a mark of 5.48 and competed at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in Boston, Massachusetts, placing in the Top 35 and as the top Canadian with a long jump of 5.36. She has also posted a career best triple jump of 11.26 at the 2025 Ontario U16 & U20 Championships, picking up a bronze medal in the process.
Receiving several science awards throughout her high school career, Mayville maintained honour roll status in each year at Northview Heights. She is set to begin studies in Life Sciences at U of T in the fall.
Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
