Jeska Eedens became head coach of the Varsity Blues women's lacrosse team in 2016.
Eedens is no stranger to the Varsity Blues program. She played for the Blues from 2007-10 and again last season, serving as the team captain and winning the OUA most valuable defensive player award and all-star honours in 2009. She helped the Blues claim the OUA bronze medal for three straight years, while placing fourth at the 2010 provincial championship. Eedens assumed the role of assistant coach this past winter.
Following her first stint with the Blues, Eedens traveled overseas and to the United States to play and train with the Scotland national team intermittently from 2010-13. She also participated in the first-ever professional women's lacrosse draft combine for the UWLX league in Philadelphia this past May.
Eedens has been heavily involved in various coaching and director positions within the Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse league and previously served as the field director for the St. Catharines Athletics Association and OWFL director of game day operations. In 2013, Eedens coached the Team Ontario-2 team to a bronze medal at the Canadian trials tournament at the World Cup in Oshawa.
