The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Ashley Minor to the women's hockey program for the 2026-27 season.

"The University of Toronto is the right choice for me because of the environment that they provide, which allows students to flourish and truly express their academic potential to the absolute fullest, while giving them room to grow," said Minor. "I truly believe that the school will allow me to develop into the student and person that I hope to become one day."

A 5-foot-7 defence from Etobicoke, Minor joins the Blues via Silverthorne Collegiate Institute and Central York Jr. Panthers.

Competing with the U22 Central York Jr. Panthers across the last two seasons, Minor has been a steady presence at the blue-line while growing into a facilitator. During the 2025-26 campaign, she registered 16 points (3 G, 13 A) to go along with her strong defensive play. With her club team she reached the OWHA Provincial Final Four in 2026. She also won gold at the 2023 U18 Canada-USA Cup Series. Her talents also extends to ball hockey where she helped Canada to silver at the 2025 U18 Women's World Ball Hockey Championship. A versatile athlete, Minor also excelled as a cross country runner with her high school.

An honour roll student throughout high school, Minor will begin her studies at U of T this fall.
 
Students who sign a letter of intent and commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
