The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Abby Dingwell to the women's hockey program for the 2026-27 season.

A 5-foot-9 defence from Morell, Prince Edward Island, Dingwell joins the Blues via Ridley College.

Traveling from the Maritimes to compete with the Ridley Tigers, Dingwell most recently served as team captain for the prestigious collegiate program. Her exceptional play at the blue-line earned her Team MVP honours for the 2025-26 season. She previously won Top Defensive Player at the U18 Atlantic Hockey Championships. Dingwell has additionally competed on the national stage, helping the U18 Team Atlantic squad to a silver medal at the 2025 National Women's Hockey Championship.

A Top Mark Award winner at Ridley, Dingwell is set to study Kinesiology at the University of Toronto beginning in September.
 
Students who sign a letter of intent and commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
