Sean Slapnicar was named head coach of the Varsity Blues curling program in August 2025.

A seasoned NCCP-trained coach in competitive curling, Slapnicar brings a wealth of experience in athlete development, recruitment, and strategic game planning. He has competed in multiple provincial curling championships, including Major leagues, and is deeply committed to fostering high-performance environments.

In addition to his curling credentials, Slapnicar holds NCCP certification in hockey and has coached across multiple sports, including lacrosse, demonstrating a versatile and holistic approach to athlete development.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in economics from Carleton University and an MBA from Royal Roads University.
