Biography
The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Jordan Schaepper to the men's swimming program for the 2026-27 season.
"I chose to commit to the University of Toronto swim team because of the outstanding coaching staff, the positive and driven team culture, and the chance to balance high-level athletics with an exceptional education," said Schaepper.
A 5-foot-11 freestyle and butterfly specialist from McNab/Braeside, Ont., Schaepper joins the Blues via John McCrae Secondary School and Nepean Kanata Barracuda Swim Club.
Schaepper has developed his ability in a number of distance events, claiming multiple club records in both short course and long course. His hard-working mentality inside-and-outside the pool has seen him receive the Swim Ontario Dan Taylor Award on three occasions, highlighting swimming excellence, academic achievement and community leadership. He has additionally received with his club the President's Award in 2025 and the Award of Merit in 2024. Elevating his in-pool performance, Schaepper has recently trained with the High Performance Centre Ontario distance program and attended Swimming Canada Distance Development Camp.
"We are very excited to sign Jordan as he has a history of top performances," noted Varsity Blues swimming head coach Byron MacDonald. "He races the tough longer races and will be an invaluable addition to the Varsity Blues. And his energy and positive attitude will be a great asset."
Schaepper is set to study at the University of Toronto - Scarborough campus, looking to major in media and communications.
Students who sign a letter of intent and/or commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
