Mike joins the 2009-10 Varsity Blues men’s coaching staff with an accomplished resume as both a player and as a coach.

As a player, Mike was a setter and libero for Dalhousie University from 1999-02 and was named the Atlantic University Athletic Association’s (AUAA) libero of the year in 1999-00. The Scarborough, Ont. native also played one season at Ryerson University (1997-1998) and was a member of the club volleyball for the Scarborough Solars volleyball club.

Mike was the head coach of the Toronto Blues volleyball club under-18 boys team that captured two Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) provincial championships (2007-2008) and a bronze medal at the 2008 Volleyball Canada (VC) national championships.

In the summer of 2006, Mike was the assistant coach with the OVA under-17 provincial team that finished in fourth place at the National Team Challenge Cup (NTCC) tournament in Winnipeg, Man. He served as an assistant coach with the OVA under-18 provincial team that captured the bronze medal at the 2008 NTCC in Halifax, N.S. and had also worked as a guest coach with men's senior national volleyball team in the summer of 2008 in preparation for the 2008 Pan Am Cup in Winnipeg, Man.
