The University of Toronto Varsity Blues are excited to share the commitment of Runo Ajise to the track and field program for the 2024-25 season.

A 6-2 jumper from Brampton, Ont., Ajise joins the Blues via UTTC and Crescent School.

Most recently at the 2024 CISAA Track & Field Championships, Ajise earned gold in the long jump with a best leap of 6.48m. He then bettered that mark at the 2024 OFSAA Championships, placing fifth overall in the province with a jump of 6.65m. At the CISAA event he also added a fourth place result in the high jump clearing 1.70m, and placed fourth in the 100m sprint with a time of 11.58. Following his strong 2023-24 campaign he received his high school's track and field performance award.

An honour student throughout his high school career, Ajise is set to study economics at the University of Toronto beginning this fall.
