Kaustav has been involved with the Varsity Blues men's squash team since 2008, serving as team manager since September 2011 and as a member of the team for five years overall.

He holds a B.Sc. in Genetics and Biotechnology, an M.Sc. in Immunology, and an MBA in Health Sector Strategy and Entrepreneurial Finance. He is currently the Head of Business Development at Nuvo Pharmaceuticals Inc., a publicly traded Canadian specialty pharmaceutical company.
