British Columbia native Jamie Uyeyama joins the Varsity Blues coaching staff as the defensive line coach. He has been the defensive coordinator at Sands Secondary School in North Delta, B.C. for the past three seasons, guiding them to conference championships in 2005 and 2006. Uyeyama played for Idaho State University from 1999-2001, where he received two Varsity letters, before returning to Canada for two seasons at Simon Fraser University in 2004 and 2005. His cousin, Mark, is a strength and conditioning coach for the San Francisco 49ers.
