Brent Weir rejoins the Varsity Blues coaching staff in 2017 after a three-year stint from 2010-12. Weir has a wealth of high school and university experience. As a player, Brent was a three-time AUS all-star and a 1998 CIS all-Canadian at Acadia University. He became the Axemen’s offensive line coach when the team earned an AUS silver medal in 2001.

Brent has also been an offensive line coach at various high schools, including Huron Heights Secondary School in Newmarket. Since 2004, Huron Heights has won three York region championships and has been Metro Bowl finalists twice (2005, 2007).

When he is not coaching, Brent is a full-time fire fighter with Toronto Fire Services.
