Anthony Cannon joined the Varsity Blues coaching staff in 2014. As a player, Cannon was a four-year starter at Tulane University, and was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2006, playing in the NFL from 2006-09. He went onto sign with the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL, where he played until his retirement after the 2012 season.
 
He served as the Laurier Golden Hawks defensive line coach in 2013. In addition, Cannon is the president and founder of the International Development Fast Football League (IDFFL).
