Residences & Campus Life

When you apply to U of T, you must decide if you want to conduct all of your business downtown (St. George), in Mississauga (UTM) or on the Scarborough campus (UTSC). Campus selection is a matter of personal preference. Some student athletes like living downtown, while others prefer the Scarborough and Mississauga campus environment. Once you select a campus, all of your courses and administrative activities happen there. For example, if you decide to attend the downtown campus, all of your classes, meals, fees, and residence will be downtown. You will not have any dealings with the other campuses unless you want to.

Students who attend the downtown campus (St. George) are enrolled in a unique college system. The college system was developed to make a big school feel small. The downtown campus is made up of seven colleges. Each of the seven colleges on the St. George campus is unique. Each college provides core services for their students, including academic and financial counseling, accommodation, orientation, scholarships and bursaries, and social gatherings. Many students discover that their college is one of the most important factors in their university experience and all students must select a college.
