University of Toronto Athletics

Since 1897, rowing has been a part of the fabric of U of T athletics, enriching the lives of generations of student-athletes. Founded by Ned Hanlan, one of Canada's first sporting heroes, the Varsity Blues rowing team is the oldest university rowing program in Canada. Throughout its history, U of T rowing has competed successfully at the intercollegiate level, and many of our alumni have competed at the World and Olympic levels. 

Experienced rowers and novices alike are welcome to try out for seats in a variety of boats. Absolutely no rowing experience is required to try out for our novice team.
