NICK'S NOTES NUMBER sân
June 2, 2008 - Hey everyone!
So we've landed and arrived in Taiwan safe and sound! After a long 14.5 hour flight from Toronto to Hong Kong, we stopped for about an hour and then flew to Taiwan (about and hour and a half). We landed in Taiwan, went through customs, and were met by a really friendly bus driver who took us to the Kainan University Gym for practice.
Practice was... shall we say, special. All the guys were exhausted from the 16+ hours on the planes, to go along with the 12 hour time difference, let's just say it wasn't the prettiest basketball we had ever played. But at least we got it out of our systems and I think we'll be ready for the game tomorrow. One note - Rob Paris stepped awkwardly on his ankle and rolled over on it - but it looks like it will be alright for either tomorrow or possibly later in the tournament.
After practice we went to the hotel, which is absolutely beautiful. More really, really friendly people here to meet us and help us out with our bags and such too! We then showered up, grabbed some food, went to the convenience store across the street to grab some juice and snacks, and most guys are in bed now getting rested for tomorrow. All the food stuff is cheap here! A bottle of juice, for example, costs only about 80 cents!
Anyways, I've been up for a couple days now with relatively little sleep, so I'm gonna sign off here and get some rest. I hope everyone back home is doing well and you'll hear from me soon!
