As announced by Canada Basketball on Thursday (Mar. 19) afternoon, University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball head coach Dianna Ros will also serve as head coach for the U18 Women's National Team.
Ros completed her second season as head coach of the Varsity Blues in February, more than doubling U of T's win total from the previous year. Building a strong defensive identity throughout her first two seasons at the helm of the Blue and White, U of T ranked in the Top 10 in several defensive categories this year including opponent field goal percentage (7th - 35.7) and steals per game (7th - 11.3).Â
The 2023 RSEQ Coach of the Year has recently contributed to the Canada national team programs as head coach of the U23 Women's 3x3 Team, leading them to gold at the 2025 Jr. Pan American Games. Ros has additionally served as an apprentice coach with the Senior Women's National Team during their bronze medal run at the 2025 Women's AmeriCup.
Ros' leadership will begin with the 2026 Women's U18 Selection Camp, scheduled to take place in St. Catherines, Ont., from March 26-29.
