As announced on Wednesday (Mar. 11) night ahead of the start of the 2026 U SPORTS Men's Volleyball National Championship, University of Toronto Varsity Blues outside hitter Maxime Gratton has been selected as a U SPORTS first team All-Canadian.
This marks the third time Gratton has received U SPORTS first team All-Canadian honours.
Completing his fifth-year of U SPORTS competition as a Varsity Blue, Gratton delivered one of the best single seasons in U of T men's volleyball program history. With a powerful serve and a plethora of attacks from the outside, the Developmental Psychology & Education graduate student led the entire province in total points (340) and points per set (4.5). He additionally ranked second in the OUA in both total service aces (37) and aces per set (0.49), recording a service ace in all but two of his 19 matches played. His 340 points across the 2025-26 campaign places him fourth in the U of T record book for best single season performances.
The national honours coincide with Gratton being named the 2026 OUA Player of the Year and an OUA first team all-star just a week ago.
Prior to joining the Blues this past fall, he spent four seasons with the McMaster Marauders where he earned OUA first team all-star and U SPORTS first team all-Canadian honours twice, was named OUA rookie of the year and a U SPORTS all-rookie in 2022, and helped McMaster in winning three OUA championships (2022, 2023, 2024) and a U SPORTS national bronze (2023).
