The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team enter another season with the highest of expectations as they have established themselves as one of the premiere programs in the country.
Last season, the Blues finished the regular season in third place in the OUA East with an 11-9-1-5 (W-L-SOL-OTL) record. Reaching the OUA quarter-final round, U of T came up just short in a full three-game series versus the Ottawa Gee-Gees. With plenty of returners and another strong recruiting class, the Blues will be aiming to improve upon the premature postseason exit from a season ago.
U of T's offence was sensational in 2025-26 ranking fourth in the province with 72 total goals scored across the 26-game regular season. An effective power play, which also ranked third in the OUA, helped Toronto reach those offensive heights. That strong offensive attack seems to have carried over into the new season as the Blues have already scored 23 goals in six preseason games this fall.                                                    Â

FROM THE COACH'S DESK
"I'm incredibly excited about the season ahead and the opportunity to see how our veteran leaders embrace the challenges of a highly competitive schedule while guiding a young group to reach its full potential. The confidence our veterans are showing, along with the positive and encouraging environment they've created for our first-year players, has been amazing to see. Our first- and second-year players are eager to compete and are demonstrating the drive, commitment, and team-first mentality that will help us grow. Our focus is on getting a little bit better every day, supporting one another, and doing whatever it takes to make our team the best it can be!"
- Vicky Sunohara, University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey head coach

MARQUEE GAMES
October 23 at TMU
Following two home games for U of T to open their regular season, the Blues will then start a six-game road swing nearby at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Always an exciting contest when the Blues and Bold face-off, U of T will aim to start the road swing with a pivotal win. TMU have won two of the last three meetings, but the Blues were on a 12-game win streak versus the Bold prior to that.
November 28 vs Western
A special day marking the 100th anniversary of Varsity Arena, this home doubleheader alongside the Varsity Blues men's hockey team will be a Saturday celebration. The women follow the men with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop versus the visiting Mustangs, while there will be plenty of ceremony throughout the entirety of the day inside the historic venue.
February 20 vs Nipissing
In this regular season finale at Varsity Stadium, the Blues and Lakers will meet in yet another showdown of two of the top programs in the province. Toronto holds a 17-14-1 advantage over Nipissing dating back to 2013. Another late season win would go a long way in building critical momentum ahead of the OUA postseason.
