University of Toronto Varsity Blues quarterback Scott Barnett earned OUA athlete of the week honours for the period ending August 24, 2025.
 
The fourth-year pivot from Alliston, Ont., threw for a U of T and OUA-record 614 yards in U of T's 42-23 season-opening victory at Carleton on Saturday. Barnett completed 32 of 39 passes and threw for four touchdowns, including 92- and 107-yard TD passes to star receivers Thomas Roberts and Chris Joseph, respectively, in the second quarter.
 
The Varsity Blues look to improve to 2-0 as they host the Waterloo Warriors this Saturday, August 30 at Varsity Stadium. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
