CHRIS JOSEPH RECEIVES ALL-CANADIAN HONOURS

As announced by U SPORTS on Thursday (Nov. 20), University of Toronto Varsity Blues receiver Chris Joseph has been named a U SPORTS second team all-Canadian.

Joseph becomes the first Varsity Blue to receive U SPORTS all-Canadian honours since 2019 when both defensive lineman Malcolm Campbell and receiver Will Corby received second-team recognition.

A social science student from Richmond, B.C., Joseph set new U of T, OUA and U SPORTS records in his third campaign in the Blue and White. A dynamic playmaker and reliable target, Joseph registered a new single-season national record of 77 catches across eight regular season contests this fall. He was able to set the new benchmark after tying the U SPORTS single-game receptions record twice coming down with 19 catches in road contests at Carleton and York. The shifty dynamo would register five or more receptions in seven of the eight games this season, while his 863 total receiving yards ranked as the third-best in the province and fourth-most in the country, adding four touchdown receptions to round out an all-star worthy season.

The announcement comes as part of the 2025 U SPORTS Vanier Cup banquet celebrating the best from across the country ahead of the national championship scheduled for this Saturday (Nov. 22) between the Saskatchewan Huskies and Montreal Carabins at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
