The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team hosted the McMaster Marauders at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport on Saturday night (Jan. 25), coasting to a 92-68 win.

The Blues were in control from the first whistle, scoring 12 unanswered points to open the first quarter— seven of which coming from fourth-year centre Lennart Weber. Toronto's menacing defence proved troubling for McMaster to handle, allowing the Blues to maintain the lead for the entirety of the game. The Blues offence was unstoppable, as they shot over 55 percept from the field and over 45 percent from three-point range, which further allowed them to sail smoothly to a 20-plus point team win.

Three Blues put up double figures, led by Weber with 22 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and four assists, all while shooting over 71 percent from the field. Fourth-year point-guard Inaki Alavarez notched 21 points, six assists, five rebounds, one block, and one steal, shooting 53 percent. Second-year guard Simeon Jeffers stepped up in the second half, putting up 18 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

The Marauders were led by Mike Demagus and AY Osunde, who put up 24 points, four rebounds, and two assists, and 14 points and four rebounds, respectively.
