The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team will face the Laurier Golden Hawks in the first round of the OUA playoffs this week, competing in a best-of-three series with the winner advancing to the OUA quarter-finals.
The Blues enter the playoff series riding high off a convincing regular season finale win at Brock, handing the OUA West No. 1 seed their first and only home loss of the 2023-24 season. Toronto finished the campaign third in the OUA West division with a 17-10-1 (W-L-OTL) record, including two five-game winning streaks.
Meanwhile, Laurier delivered a stunning come-from-behind win this past Sunday, defeating the Nipissing Lakers in overtime to earn a play-in berth to the OUA playoffs. The Golden Hawks concluded the regular season sixth in the OUA West with a 13-13-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record overall.
