WODDHOUSE SHINES IN EXHIBITION AT CORNELL

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team fell to the Cornell Big Red in exhibition action on Saturday (Oct. 26) night by a final score of 6-2 in Ithaca, NY .

Despite a strong effort, the Blues were outshot 40-17 by their NCAA counterpart. This allowed Cornell to open the scoring, taking advantage of a power play about midway through the first period..The Big Red would add two more goals before the end of the frame to carry a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
 
In the second and third, Toronto managed to find a little more footing as Blues standout Ben Woodhouse led the team's scoring efforts. The fourth-year forward secured the first goal for the Blues just past the midway mark of the second, and a shorthanded goal late in the third, while Owen Robinson and Nicholas Athanasakos both snagged assists.
 
In net, first-year goalie Sebastian Resar stood strong with 32 saves for Toronto under a ceaseless offensive attack. Midway through the third, Jordan Fairlie stepped in to share some of the game's pressure and finished with four saves of his own.
 
Following the exhibition outing south of the border, the Blues will be return to OUA regular season action on Wednesday (Oct. 30) night where they will close out a four-game road trip in Waterloo versus the Warriors.Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the game available to stream online at oua.tv.
