TORONTO WOMEN FINISH SIXTH, MEN EIGHTH AT OUA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues cross country teams competed at the 2024 OUA Cross Country Championships in Callander, Ont., on Saturday (Oct. 26) morning.

The Toronto women finished sixth in the overall team standings, while the men placed eighth in their 15-team field.

The U of T women impressed with two Top 20 individual results, including an eighth place finish for cross country veteran Julia Agostinelli, posting a time of 29:07.7. Next for the Blues in 17th, Sarah Luedke crossed the line in 29:51.3. Liana De Medeiros was the third Blue to complete the course, placing 26th overall with a time of 30:20.0. The pair of Sophie Levasseur and Samantha MacDonald then crossed side-by-side to finish 37th and 38th, while Avery Murrell and Sarah White completed the individual results, placing 51st and 58th in the 100-person race, respectively.

The top U of T male runner was Adam Pralat who placed 41st with a time of 26:29.2, followed not to far behind in 46th by Jabez Siu in a time of 26:39.6. The pair of Jacob McLean and Christopher Stamadianos were next in at 52nd and 53rd, while the trio of Anton Mlynczyk (59th), Brandon Cidade (62nd), and Oliver Tagalog (68th) rounded out the results for the Blues men in the field of 111 competitors.

The university cross country schedule will next come to a close with the U SPORTS Championships, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Kelowna, B.C.
