WHAT HAPPENED:Â While it was a quiet period on the scoresheet, the Blues and Gryphons traded high-quality chances through the first period with U of T goalie Erica Fryer and Guelph goalie Martina Fredel keeping the puck out of the net.Â
Just over halfway through the second period, rookie forward Kaitlyn McKnight scored her third goal of the playoffs to give the Blues their first lead of the game. A few minutes later, the Gryphons added a goal of their own to tie the game from Vanessa Bueti.
The fast-paced game continued into the third period but the Gryphons would find a way to get past Fryer one last time to seal the victory with a goal from Jaime Magoffin.Â
Fryer finished the game with 17 saves.
