Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

BLUES FACE OFF AGAINST TEAM FRANCE IN EXHIBITION

The Varsity Blues women's hockey team fell 4-3 against Team France in an exhibition game on Wednesday (Mar. 29) night at Varsity Arena. 

WHAT HAPPENED: Defence was the name of the game in the first period with both teams being limited to under five shots through twenty minutes. Team France opened up the scoring first late in the period with a goal from Manon Le Scodan with under two minutes to play.

The offence turned up in the second period, as both teams traded multiple chances throughout. The Blues tied up the game early in the period after a goal from Emma Elders. Though, Chloé Aurard retook the lead for France halfway through the period. 

The Varsity Blues would tie up the game quickly in the third period with a goal from captain Taylor Trussler. The game would stay tied for most of the third period before Chloé Aurard would score her second of the game late in the period. 

Team France and Toronto traded goals in the overtime period, with Jade Barbirati scoring for France and Kaitlyn McKnight adding a goal for the Blues.
