U of T, who serve as host for the national championship for a fifth time in the past 12 years, will be vying for their 12th U SPORTS title in program history and first since 2010, while Victoria is looking to make it five in a row after winning the national banner in each of the last four seasons. The Vikes have won 15 national titles in program history.

The Blues punched their ticket to nationals after an exciting shootout victory over the No. 3 nationally ranked York Lions in the OUA Championship final, while also claiming hosting rights as the OUA champion.

Toronto finished the regular season with a 8-2-0 (W-L-T) record and also defeated the No. 4 Waterloo Warriors in the OUA semifinals.

Leading U of T this season has been veteran midfielder and OUA all-star Rebecca Carvalho. This season the nursing student from Brampton tallied a single season career-high four goals. This comes in addition to the hard work she provides U of T on the defensive end of the pitch as well. Starting all 10 regular season contests this fall, the Blues veteran also surpassed 50 games played in the Blue and White.

The Blues have also received exceptional play in net from fourth-year goalie Deepi Gill. Another Brampton native, the global affairs major has been outstanding down the stretch as the Blues have not conceded a goal in five straight matches. Gill also came up big in back-to-back shootouts, playing a pivotal role in Toronto's OUA semifinal and OUA championship victories over the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, the Victoria Vikes earned their fifth straight Canada West title after finishing the regular season with a 4-1-3 (W-L-T) record.

The No. 2 nationally ranked Vikes have been led by veteran forward Chloe Langkammer, who once again tied for the team lead in goals scored for a third consecutive season. The dynamic goal-scorer has previously been recognized as a U SPORTS first team all-Canadian and is a two-time Canada West all-star.

Additionally, the Vikes this season had a trio of players named Canada West all-stars in Maeve Connorton, Libby Hogg, and Anni Kleinschmidt, while first-year midfielder Rebecca Stone earned Canada West rookie of the year honours.
