The No. 1 nationally ranked Varsity Blues field hockey team beat the No. 4 Waterloo Warriors 1-0 on Saturday (Oct. 21) afternoon in Waterloo, Ont. to advance to their fourth straight OUA final.
The Blues and Waterloo played through all four quarters scoreless with both teams trading chances throughout, and both goalies coming up clutch on multiple occasions.
After 60 minutes of play, the two teams headed to the shootout. Molly Koop, Alicia Lung and Molly Cooper-Gray guided the team to the win with their goals, but it was Gill who clinched the win making the final save sending the team to the final.
With the win, the Blues head to their fourth consecutive OUA final, where they will play the winner of the York Lions and Guelph Gryphons game on Saturday, October 28. Time and location have not been determined.
