U of T, who hosts the national championship for the fourth time in the past 10 years, will be vying for their 12th U SPORTS title in program history and first since 2010, while Victoria is looking to three-peat after winning the national banners in 2018 and 2019. The Vikes have won 13 national titles in program history.

The Blues not only punched their ticket to nationals, but also earned hosting rights, following a dominant 3-0 victory over the Guelph Gryphons in the OUA championship final on Sunday.

Toronto finished the regular season with a 6-0-2 record to finish atop the OUA East division and also defeated No. 5 York Lions in the semifinals.

Leading U of T is 2021 OUA most valuable player Katie Lynes and fellow all-star Rebecca Carvalho. The duo has led the Blues to a mere eight goals against in 10 regular season and playoff games this year.

Offensively, second-year forward Sam McCrory has led the way. The Victoria Vikes transfer led the OUA in scoring, notching 11 goals in eight games, accounting for 44% of the Blues regular-season offence. Since then, the Kitchener, Ont., native scored both game-winning goals in Toronto's semifinal and final victories.

Prior to the intercollegiate season, Lynes, Carvalho and McCrory helped Team Canada to a gold-medal finish at the 2021 Pan Am Junior Cup in Chile. Carvalho and McCrory were also recently named to the national team that will go to the Junior World Cup in South Africa this December, while Lynes is a member of Field Hockey Canada's next gen national program.

The Victoria Vikes earned their third straight Canada West title after finishing the regular season with an unbeaten 7-0-1 record.

Fourth-year veteran Anna Mollenhauer leads the Vikes. Mollenhauer was named the Canada West player of the year for the second straight season after scoring four goals in eight games. The four-time Canada West all-star is also a member of the Canadian national team.

Chloe Langkammer earned Canada West rookie of the year honours after leading the team with nine goals, while Robin Flemming and Libby Hogg also earned CW all-star honours this year.
