Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team finished off the 2021 calendar year with a 5-2 win over the York Lions on Saturday, November 27.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Lions scored right away as second-year forward CJ Clarke found the back of the net at the 13-second mark. Toronto was able to tie it up five minutes later as Jake Brien got his first goal of the season. Nik Malenica scored a shorthanded goal with 7:27 left in the first to give the Lions the 2-1 lead.

Toronto tied the game up early in the second on a Ross Krieger goal. Just before the midway point of the period, Danny Katic put the Blues up 3-2. A one-timer from forward Owen Robinson gave the Blues a two-goal lead and a strong finish to the period.

Billy Moskal scored an empty netter in the third as Toronto earned their second win of the season.
Third-year goalie Alex Bishop made 37 saves in the victory.
UP NEXT:Â The Blues will be back at Varsity Arena on Saturday, January 7 as they take on the York Lions. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
