THE MATCH-UP: The Varsity Blues have won an OUA-leading 32 provincial banners since 1971 and will look to return to the top of the podium after a silver-medal finish in 2019. Toronto and Guelph are no strangers to the OUA gold-medal game, having met in 10 of the last 15 provincial finals. The Blues hold a 7-3 record during that time.

Toronto finished the regular season in first place in the OUA East division with a 6-0-2 record and defeated the No. 5 York Lions, 2-1, in Saturday's semifinal to punch their ticket to the final.

A Victoria Vikes transfer from Kitchener, Ont., Sam McCrory led the OUA in regular-season scoring, notching 11 goals in eight games, accounting for 44% of the Blues regular-season offence.

Midfielder McKinley Kennedy of North Vancouver has had an impressive rookie season, netting four goals in eight games for the Blues. The rest of the well-rounded Blues offence was spread among six players, including veteran leaders Anna Costanzo, Katie Lynes and Rebecca Carvalho.

Second-year netminder Deepi Gill has backstopped the Blues all season, allowing a mere seven goals against in eight games.

The OUA defending champion Gryphons finished atop the West division with a 6-1-2 record and beat the Western Mustangs, 3-1, in their semifinal.

Guelph's Darci Moher ranked second in league scoring, potting seven goals in eight games, while Bailey Mitchell scored four times in 2021.
