The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team got their first win of the pre-season by defeating the Waterloo Warriors 5-1 on Friday, Oct 22 at Varsity Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â Second-year forward Ross Krieger scored twice in the first period to give the Blues a 2-0 advantage.
Waterloo narrowed the gap to one when forward Chase Campbell scored on the powerplay. Toronto was able to extend the lead when rookie Ben Woodhouse put the puck past Waterloo goalie Dan Murphy.
In the third period, the Blues would add two more when forwards Jared Leslie and Kyle Clarke found the back of the net.
Third-year goalie Alex Bishop stopped 41 of the 42 shots he faced for the win.
