BLUES DROP NARROW DECISION TO RAMS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team opened their 2021-22 pre-season schedule with a 4-2 loss to the Rams on Wednesday night (Oct. 13) at Mattamy Athletic Centre.

An action-packed first period saw second-year Blues forward Ross Krieger open the scoring 2:04 into the contest; however, the Rams battled back and took the lead with two goals within 1:08 of each other. That didn't last long though as Concordia Stingers transfer Anthony Beauchamp evened the score for the Blues 27 seconds later.

The Rams potted the eventual game-winner midway through the first frame off the stick of Ryan Wells and added a empty-netter with 36 seconds remaining to seal the win.

UP NEXT: The Blues are back in exhibition action this Saturday, October 16 as they head to Guelph, Ont., to take on the Gryphons. The puck drops at 2 p.m.
