The University of Toronto Varsity Blues baseball team notched another two big wins on Sunday, October 10 to win the OUA regional qualifier in Sudbury, Ont.

With the wins, the Blues remain undefeated and earned hosting rights to the OUA Final Four next weekend in Ajax, Ont.

Toronto 14, York 4
Â
Tied 4-4 after three innings, the Blues took the lead for good, scoring three in the fourth and seven in the sixth to mercy the Lions.

Matthew Kanhai earned the win on the mound, going three and one third innings of shutout baseball in relief.

Toronto 13, Rams 3
Â
The Blues got out to a 3-0 lead after four innings. The two teams traded runs in the fifth; however, the Rams made things interesting by scoring two in the sixth. Leading 5-3, U of T sealed the victory with one run in the eighth inning and an impressive seven runs in the eighth to secure the berth to the Final Four.

Rookie pitcher Ethan Vivien earned the win on the mound, while veteran Grant Shantz earned the save, going two and two third innings in relief.
