SUPPORT OUR WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE ON SUPER SATURDAY

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's basketball and hockey teams are all at home this Saturday, November 30.

The nationally-ranked Blues hockey teams host the Waterloo Warriors at Varsity Arena. The women start the action at 3 p.m., with the men to follow at 7 p.m.

Toronto's basketball teams take on the McMaster Marauders at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. PLEASE NOTE NEW GAME TIMES: The women get underway at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m.

Give back to the community this holiday season and donate to the Varsity Blues clothing drive. Drop off any lightly used or new winter clothing at any of our home games on Saturday. All donations will be going to Scott Mission Family Clothing Bank.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY AT A GLANCE: The No. 3 nationally-ranked Blues are 8-3-0 and tied with the Nipissing Lakers for first place in the OUA. Toronto will be out for revenge on Saturday following a 5-0 loss to the Warriors this past Saturday in Waterloo. The Warriors sit just one point back of the Blues, tied for third place with the Ryerson Rams.

Madeline Albert and Erica Fryer have split duties between the pipes. Albert leads the OUA with a .961 save percentage, while Fryer sits third with a 1.49 goals against average.

MEN'S HOCKEY AT A GLANCE: The No. 4 Varsity Blues are riding a 10-game win streak and sit in second place in the OUA West division with a 12-2-0 record, one point behind the Windsor Lancers (12-2-1) with a game in hand. Prior to Saturday's tilt, the Blues head to St. Catharines, Ont., to battle the Brock Badgers on Friday night.

The 1-2 punch of David Thomson and Joey Manchurek lead the Blues and rank second and fourth in the OUA with 22 and 19 points, respectively. Sophomore netminder Alex Bishop sits atop the OUA with 11 wins and a .917 win percentage.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL AT A GLANCE: The Blues are coming off their first win of the season after edging the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, 55-54, in Oshawa last weekend. Fourth-year forward Sarah Bennett had a stellar weekend, racking up 39 points and 22 boards at Ontario Tech and Queen's. Fellow veteran forward Nada Radonjic currently ranks fifth in the OUA in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game.

MEN'S BASKETBALL AT A GLANCE: Toronto is 3-5 and coming off a big 97-82 win at Ontario Tech this past Saturday. Third-year guard Evan Shadkami leads the Blues and ranks ninth in the OUA, averaging 19.5 points per contest. Fourth-year guard Eric Rwahwire has had an impressive start in his first season with the Blues. The UC Riverside transfer is averaging 15.5 points and 5.3 boards per game.
