The women take to the court first at 1 p.m., with the men to follow at 3 p.m. Both matchups will be streamed live on OUA.tv.
Coming into 2019, the No. 8 Blues women hold a 7-2 record, which is the second best in the OUA East Division. Toronto's offence is hard to predict because of the various options they have at their disposal.
Fourth-year right side hitter Alina Dormann continues to lead the way and remains a dominant force in the OUA. Most recently named a U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadian, Dormann sits fourth in the province in kills per set (3.67) and points per set (4.3). After that the team have four players that average 2 points per set, those players are Brianna Patrick (3.5), Jenna Woock (2.5), Anna Licht (2.3) and Anna Feore (2.0). With this type of balanced fire power, Toronto leads the OUA in kills per set.
This Sunday, the women face off against one of only three teams left in U SPORTS with an undefeated record in the No. 6 Waterloo Warriors (7-0). The Warriors have only dropped three sets the entire season heading into this weekend. Led by fifth-year outside hitter Claire Mackenzie, who sits in the top three in kills (3.88), aces (0.71) and points per set (4.6), the Warriors have the second best hitting percentage (.246) in Ontario.
The men on the hand are 6-3 on the campaign and are showing they are a true threat in the OUA. The Blues hold victories over the East-division leading Queen's Gaels and West-division leading Windsor Lancers. Similar to the women, the Blues rely on a balance attack. Alberta Golden Bears transfer Chris Towe and freshman Evan Falardeau have been a huge boost to Toronto this season, sitting first and second, respectively, on the team in all offensive statistical categories.
Blues veterans Nicholas Trewern and Alex Barnes are also offensive threats, with both registering over 2.5 points per set. Third-year setter Jordan Figueira is the motor to the engine, averaging 9.16 assists per set.
