HUNT SHINES IN LOSS TO NO. 5 GAELS

Box Score Fourth-year netminder Andrew Hunt posted 40 saves as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a narrow 2-1 decision to the No. 5 nationally ranked Queen's Gaels on Saturday, January 28 at Varsity Arena.

U of T veteran forward Connor Cleverley got the Blues on the score sheet first early in the contest with a beautiful backhanded pass in front of the net from fellow veteran Russell Turner.

Queen's would battle back in the second period, registering 23 shots on net in the frame and scoring two goals courtesy of back-to-back goals from Brock Edwards and Alex Atothart.

Just under a minute into the third period, Blues netminder Andrew Hunt made a great pad save to shut down the Gaels. He would continue to make great saves for the rest of the period to keep the game within reach.

The Blue and White are back in action on February 3 when they take on the Laurier Golden Hawks at Varsity Arena. Puck drops at 7 pm.
