LINDSAY NETS TWO, BLUES NARROWLY FALL TO HAWKS

Box Score Second-year forward Max Lindsay scored two goals and added one assist but the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a narrow 5-4 decision to the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday night (Nov. 19) in Waterloo, Ont.

Down 1-0 early in the first period, team captain Charlie Connell got the Blues on the board at the 13:36 mark of the frame. Lindsay put the Blues ahead two minutes later the Toronto carried a 2-1 advantage into the first intermission.

Laurier's Matt Dupont evened the score 4:21 into the second frame, but Lindsay answered right back, netting his second of the game exactly four minutes later. The Hawks would go-ahead as Derek Schoenmakers found the back of the net and the game was tied 3-3 after 40 minutes.

The Hawks scored two quick goals out of the gate in the third and, despite a Corey Jackson goal with 18 seconds remaining, the Blues were unable to complete the comeback.

Toronto netminder Andrew Hunt posted 31 saves in the loss.

The Varsity Blues return to action this Wednesday, November 23 as they host the Ryerson Rams in their annual School Day Game at Varsity Arena. The puck drops at 11 a.m.
