The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team hosts the Windsor Lancers and Brock Badgers this weekend (January 15-16) at Varsity Arena.

Currently 6-11-2, U of T will first take on the 10-7-2 Lancers on Friday. Following a tough four-game road trip to end 2015 and begin 2016, the Blues are ready to come home to Varsity Arena where they have enjoyed more success this season.
Playing the underdog, Toronto will need to take advantage of the Lancers undisciplined play as Windsor sits 2nd in the OUA in total penalty minutes so far this season (414). However, it will be a tough task against the top five penalty kill (85.3) the Lancers utilize in defending all those disadvantages.
Fourth-year forwards Patrick Marsh and Christian Finch will be relied on heavily to provide the offensive push for the Blues during those man-advantage situations. Marsh currently leads the squad in goals with nine, which is top 20 in the OUA, while Finch leads the team in scoring with 22 points (8 G, 14 A), which puts him in the OUA top 15.
Meanwhile, a trio of first-year forwards in Matt Campagna, Max Lindsay and Ryan Kirkup will continue to be leaned on for offensive depth, providing the newcomers with crucial playing time and responsibility in order to continue the team's growth.
Windsor will look to shut down this offensive push with their strong defensive core led by 2014-15 OUA defenceman of the year and first-team all-star Kenny Bradford. The large fourth-year defenceman and Windsor captain has proven to be an anchor for the Lancers at the blue line, leading the team's stellar penalty kill this season while also serving time quarterbacking the team's power play.
Up front for the Lancers, first-year forward Justice Dundas has served as the team's offensive threat leading Windsor in goals (9), assists (13), and power play goals (5). The former Saint John's Sea Dog has displayed such efficiency for scoring that he, like the U of T's Finch, sits in the OUA top 15 in scoring.
Following the tough matchup with the Lancers, Toronto will take on the 6-9-4 Brock Badgers Saturday evening.
The biggest obstacle for the Blues in this contest will be Badgers goaltender Clint Windsor, who has shown himself to be one of the OUA's best this season. Starting in 14 for the Badgers 19 total games, Windsor has maintained a .929 save percentage, while making 497 total saves, good enough to rank third and fourth in each category. Windsor also holds a 2.48 goals against average over his last four games facing 35 or more shots in each of those contests including a 55 save effort in his last outing versus the Windsor Lancers last Saturday.
After the weekend doubleheader the Varsity Blues will head back to the road to take on the Western Mustangs Thursday, January 21 in London before returning home to Varsity Arena to face off with the Guelph Gryphons Saturday, January 23.
