MEN’S HOCKEY PLAYOFF PICTURE SET

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Brock Badgers on Friday night (Feb. 6) in St. Catharines, Ont.

Toronto (12-13-1) have clinched fifth place and will face the No. 4 seeded Ryerson Rams in the first round of the OUA West division playoffs next week. Ryerson will host Game 1 on Wednesday night (Feb. 11), with U of T set to host Game 2 on Saturday. Game 3, if necessary, will be back at Ryerson on Sunday. All three games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Trailing 4-0 early in the second period, Toronto captain Andrew Doyle got the Blues on the board 7:01 into the frame and Blues leading scorer Jeff Brown added a short-handed marker just over three minutes later to bring the game within two (4-2) heading into the final frame.

The Badgers put the game out of reach with three goals within three minutes of each other midway through the third period to seal the win.

The Varsity Blues wrap up the regular season tomorrow at York University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
