BLUES BATTLING FOR HOME-ICE ADVANTAGE

Playoff positioning is on the line as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team wrap up their regular season with two road games at Brock and York this weekend (February 6-7).

U of T heads to St. Catharines, Ont., to take on the Brock Badgers on Friday night at 7:15 p.m., before travelling north of the city to take on the York Lions Saturday night at 7 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on OUA.tv.

One win from Toronto, currently 12-12-1, would solidify at least a fifth-place standing in the OUA West division. Should U of T win both of their games, they could move into fourth place if the Ryerson Rams drops one of their last two games this weekend.

U of T has won four of their last five games but are coming off a 4-1 loss at Carleton last Saturday night.

Fourth-year forward Jeff Brown has held a hot hand of late, leading the team with 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points. Fellow assistant captain Michael Markovic has notched a team-leading 14 goals, while Tyler Liukkonen tops the squad with 19 assists.

Fourth and fifth-year netminders Brett Willows and Garrett Sheehan have been splitting duties between the pipes, holding .898 and .883 save percentages, respectively.

Both the Brock Badgers and York Lions are 9-14-2 and tied for ninth in the OUA standings, but sit only one point out of sixth.
