The No. 10 University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's hockey team takes on the Windsor Lancers in a best-of-three OUA quarter-final series this week.

A Head-to-Head Look

The Blues finished tied with the Queen's Gaels for third place with identical 16-5-3 records, but finish fourth based on head-to-head competition. The Lancers placed fifth with a 14-6-4 record.

Toronto went 1-0-1 versus Windsor during the regular season. The Blues dropped a 4-3 shootout decision on Nov. 16 at home, before defeating the Lancers 3-1 on Jan. 31 in Windsor.

The Blues have only met the Lancers once in the post season in program history. Toronto defeated Windsor in an OUA quarter-final game, 2-0, on Feb. 25, 2006.

Varsity Blues

Toronto welcomes back fifth-year goaltender and 2014 CIS all-Canadian Nicole Kesteris. Kesteris is coming off a silver-medal performance with Team Canada at the 2015 Winter Universiade in Granada, Spain. The Aurora, Ont., native won both games she played in Spain, and finished the regular season ranked third in the province with a .938 save percentage.

In her absence, sophomore Katey Teekasingh stood between the pipes. The Toronto native holds a .912 save percentage in six games played.

Third-year forward Kristi Riseley led Toronto's offence with a team-high 11 goals, while also adding nine assists for 20 points. Fourth-year veteran Sonja Weidenfelder has notched nine goals and nince assists, while Amanda Ricker leads the squad with 12 assists.

Ilderton, Ont., native Taylor Day is also a threat to score, having tallied 11 points in 17 games this season.

Windsor Lancers

First-year forward Krystin Lawrence led the Lancers through the regular season with 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points.

Veteran forwards Candace Kourounis and Jenny MacKnight notched 20 and 21 points, respectively, sharing the team's lead with 12 assists.

Erinn Noseworthy also tallied a team-high 11 goals this season, while Shailyn waites and Candice Chevalier are also threats offensively with seven and nine goals this season.
