Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team fell 4-1 to the Brock Badgers on Friday, October 30 in St. Catharines, Ont.
With the loss, the Blues drop to 2-3-1 and sit in sixth place in the OUA West division.
Special teams proved to be the difference as Brock went 3-for-6 on the powerplay, with Toronto unable to convert on their one man advantage.
The Badgers opened the scoring late in the first period with a powerplay goal off the stick of Skylar Pacheco.
Brock then padded their lead with two powerplay goals four minutes apart in the latter half of the second frame.
Veteran forward Patrick Marsh notched what would be U of T's lone goal of the game at the 17:26 mark of the second period, sending a low shot that beat Badgers netminder Clint Windsor. Â The Badgers were up 3-1 after 40 minutes.
The Badgers added an insurance marker 7:16 into the third period to round out the scoring.
Blues goalie Michael Nishi posted 31 saves in the loss.
The Varsity Blues are back in action tomorrow night as they travel to take on the York Lions. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
