With the win, the Blues improve to 9-1 and sit first in the OUA standings, one game ahead of the Guelph Gryphons (8-1).
In the first game of the day, third-year forward Lauren Sudac opened the scoring in the third minute, but the Gaels responded and evened it up with a goal off the stick of Lauren Taylor.
Fifth-year veteran Tegan Stairs notched her eighth goal of the season right before the whistle and Toronto took a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Third-year forward Anna McNeil notched back-to-back goals in the 40th and 42nd minute and veteran Ally Evanyshyn added an insurance marker in the 47th minute to round out the victory.
McNeil opened the scoring in Toronto's second game of the day, notching what would be the eventual game-winner in the 3rd minute. Stairs put the Blues up by two just four minutes later.Â
McNeill scored twice, in the 24th and 29th minutes, notching her fourth and fifth goals of the day, and Nicole Spring tallied in the 34th minute to give Toronto a 5-0 lead at halftime.
Toronto would add two more in the second half, with Amanda Woodcroft finding the back of the net in the 42nd minute and Alison Lee scoring off a corner in the 47th minute.
Sarah Fredo earned both victories in net.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 24 when they travel to Kingston, Ont., for their final two regular season contests of the season. The Blues take on the York Lions at 10:45 a.m. and the Western Mustangs at 4 p.m.Â
