Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team defeated the York Lions 66-45 on Saturday night (Jan. 24) at Tait McKenzie Centre.
With the win the Blues improve to 7-5 and sit in third place in the East, two points behind the Queen's Gaels.
Fifth-year guard Jill Stratton of Etobicoke, Ont., led all players with 19 points, going 8-for-14 from the floor, while adding seven boards and three steals on the night.
Sopomore guard Emily Piccini added 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Jasmine Lewin had 10 points and two assists in the win.
Jackie Koudys led the Lions with 11 points in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to the court next Saturday, January 31 as they host the McMaster Marauders in their eighth annual Think Pink game at Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport. Game is set for 1 p.m.Â
