Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's hockey team dropped a 5-1 decision to the Windsor Lancers on Saturday night (Feb. 8) in Windsor, Ont.
With the loss, the Blues drop to 13-11-2 and sit tied for sixth place in the OUA West with the York Lions and Guelph Gryphons.
After a scoreless first period, the Lancers got on the board early in the second putting away three goals in three minutes.
Tyler Luikkonen got the Blues on the board 4.47 into the third period; however, Windsor was quick to reply with a goal from Derek Lanoue just under two minutes later. Windsor's Kenny Bradford notched the final goal of the night midway through the final frame to seal the win for the Lancers.
Brett Willows and Michael Nishi shared time between the pipes posting 18 and 27 saves, respectively.
The Varsity Blues will be back in action on Wednesday, February 12, when they take on the Ryerson Rams at 11.30 a.m. at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
